Bio

Massimo Casa is Senior Adviser in the Statistical Data Collection and Processing Directorate of Banca d’Italia with a long experience in data governance, data and metadata management and statistical production. He is currently dealing with national and international initiatives aimed at harmonizing, standardizing and integrating statistical, prudential and resolution reporting.

He is member of the recently established Joint Bank Reporting Committee (JBRC) and its Steering Committee. He has also a deep knowledge on banks’ internal processes supporting their compliance with the relevant reporting obligations in the areas of statistics, prudential supervision and resolution.

With this regard, he is (co-) chairing the Steering Group of the European BIRD (Banks’ Integrated Reporting Dictionary) and chairing the Steering Committee of the Italian PUMA, both voluntary cooperation initiatives of the financial system, promoted and coordinated respectively by the European Central Bank and by Banca d’Italia.

The common objective of these initiatives is the creation and maintenance of a reference documentation for the production of regulatory reports by the intermediaries. He has authored some publications on the topics mentioned above.
